Some adorable baby stuff, and a new sweater

My sister-in-law’s sister (is she my sister-in-law once removed?) just had a little baby girl, so I made a stuffed turtle from the Sheldon pattern, and I just made a little bunny hat for the baby at Christmas.  I improvised the hat pattern since hats like this are so simple to do, and then made some impromptu bunny ears for the top.  I love how it turned out, so freaking cute!  I’m clearly going to make tons of these when I have a baby….boy or girl hahah!

Enjoy!

I’m also currently working on a design inspired by the gathered cardigan in Knit.1’s summer 08 issue…I couldn’t find a copy of the magazine so I’m trying to copy the design myself.  It’s turning out really well, and I changed it a bit to have a high collar to be more dramatic.  Here’s the progress so far:

Jenny Bag and Sitcom Chic Progress

I finished the purse I made for my friend’s birthday, lined and everything! I designed it myself as I went along, I’ll try and add a pattern eventually. I have lots of pattern making to get caught up on these days! I knit the purse in Bernat Satin in blue and brown on size 8 needles, and I used some cotton animal print fabric for the lining and hand-stitched it in. I just got my grandmother’s awesome sewing machine, but I need some practice before actually MAKING something with it. Anyways, I love how the purse ended up – so here are some pics:

As for progress on Sitcom Chic, I’m done the body part and one sleeve. I’m about 1/4 done the second sleeve now, and it’s looking great! Here are some pics so far:

That’s the detail of the subtle wasitline detailing I added to the pattern, I hope it turns out!

Let me know what you think about the purse!

New look!

So I thought that the blog could use a new look….so here it is!  Hope you like it 🙂  I’m still busily working on my Christmas knitting list, and have yet to cross anything off….

BUT, the Patch Pocket Raglan is coming along nicely, I’m about 9-10″ of length in the round at this point, so I should be done in relatively short order.  Another bit of news however….I’m going to see a doctor tomorrow about a hand problem I’ve been having that I think is related to knitting *gasp*.  I’ll post an update if there is anything to report…cross your fingers and wish me luck!!

Lelah…a day away

So, I finished Lelah late (very late) last night, and today I’m blocking. I decided to whip up some quick straps since my friend is very chesty, so I thought she might need them! I’m definitely a novice to the blocking thing…but my bolero turned out well afterwards so I have slightly more confidence doing it now. I took a couple pics of it (since I love taking pics) to show you how it’s looking before finishing.

I’ll post pics of my friend wearing it tomorrow when I give it to her. I really hope it fits her!!

Most Recent Work – Ribbed Lace Bolero

Here’s my most recent FO. I think it’s really nice, I made it for my cousin to wear in some way at her wedding. I used a cashmere blend, and it was one of the quickest knits ever! The pattern is from Craftster…

My current project is my very own Lelah! Well not really my very own since I’m giving it to my best friend for her birthday….so I’ll probably end up making another one for myself!! It’s looking fab so far, I think it’s going to turn out really well.

So here’s the progress so far:

And here’s a closeup shot of the detail of the lace pattern. I really love this fishtail lace!

Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it Friday!
